Hook&Catch
Log every bite, mark the spots that pay off, and grow a quiet record of time on the water — a focused iOS companion for anglers who value the catch, not the crowd
Privacy Policy
Hook&Catch keeps your fishing notes on your device. This page explains what the app may access locally, what never leaves your phone, and how data related to this website is handled.
Effective date · June 29, 2026
- No account to cast Log a catch, tag a spot, or sketch a trip plan — the app opens without email, password, or social login between you and the water.
- Your logbook stays local Catch records, bait notes, and saved locations are never sold, rented to advertisers, or stitched into a profile of your habits.
- Minimal footprint We collect only what keeps Hook&Catch stable. The app does not track your movements or fingerprint your device for targeted ads.
What this policy covers
This document applies to the Hook&Catch iOS application distributed through the app store and the informational pages hosted on this domain. It governs anyone who installs the app or reads content here.
Information the app uses
Hook&Catch does not ask for your legal name, email, phone number, home address, government ID, or payment details to work.
Catches you log, spots you mark, tackle notes, and trip reflections remain on your phone. Your fishing history is not uploaded to our servers for analytics, profiling, or resale.
When the app loads shared content — onboarding screens, species prompts, seasonal tips — it may request public endpoints on this site. Those responses carry generic copy only; nothing from your private logbook is ever sent back.
Device permissions
Hook&Catch may request notification access so you can receive reminders for planned trips or tackle prep you chose to schedule.
Camera or photo library access appears only when you attach a picture to a catch or catalogue gear. Microphone, contacts, and precise location are not requested unless a future version clearly needs them and this policy is updated accordingly.
Basic storage and network permissions let the app run and fetch optional template updates. Crash reports routed through the platform store follow that store's own privacy rules.
Third-party services
Hosting infrastructure keeps this policy page and public API routes available. Providers may retain server logs for security and uptime under their separate privacy terms.
If we add analytics or support tools later, each partner will be named here and data sharing will be limited to what they need to operate.
Age requirement
Hook&Catch is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal details from children. If a minor entered data by mistake, contact us through the app store support channel and we will help with removal where possible.
Retention and security
Your catches, spots, and trip notes stay under your control on your device. Delete individual entries inside the app or uninstall to clear local storage entirely.
We apply reasonable safeguards to pages and server-side components we operate. No system is perfectly secure — treat deeply personal fishing reflections with the same care you would a private field journal.
Your choices
You may stop using Hook&Catch at any time. Disable notifications or revoke optional permissions in iOS Settings for a quieter experience.
To request access, correction, or deletion of information we handle directly, use the developer contact listed on the app store page.
Changes to this policy
We may revise this text as Hook&Catch evolves or as legal requirements shift. The date above marks the latest meaningful update. Continued use after a revision means you accept the updated version where permitted by law.
